Most companies work five days a week, some even seven, but it seems Portland Research Group must follow that Beatles song and put in eight days to complete multiple projects for clients around the world – and gratis work for local organizations.

To highlight just how much time, service and funding Portland Research Group has donated to Portland Symphony Orchestra over the years, the organization recently honored us with their first ever Corporate Partnership Award.

Market Research Firm Holding Award

This award is in highest honor of Portland Research Group’s personal and institutional commitment to the PSO, as evidenced through their volunteer efforts, donation of professional services, and financial support.

“We are so proud of this recognition,” said Bruce Lockwood, president of Portland Research Group, who serves on the PSO Marketing Committee and is a longtime subscriber to the Tuesday classical series. “The Portland Symphony Orchestra is a phenomenal organization that continually shines through outstanding programming and performances.”

Portland Research Group conducts one research project for the PSO each year, at no cost. Lockwood said he and his staff consider the performing arts critical to the vitality of a community, and want to do what they can to ensure the orchestra’s continued success.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have an orchestra of this caliber in Portland, Maine,” he said.

Ari Solotoff, former Executive Director of the Portland Symphony Orchestra, returns the compliment. He said the PSO relies on support from the local community to great degree. He names Portland Research Group’s volunteer service, pro bono work, financial contributions and “loyal and passionate attendance” at PSO concerts as keys to the organization’s success.

“The staff of Portland Research Group truly values the quality of life that the Portland Symphony Orchestra adds to our community, and they stand behind that value,” said Solotoff. “We are deeply grateful for the enthusiasm and creativity they bring to us every year.”
