Greetings,
In this issue you'll find some ideas about
how to launch a successful market research
project, an introduction to mail-based
research, and a web site that has something
to do with shadows and reaching and . . . you’ll
have to take a look for yourself.
As always, please feel free to reply to
this email when you need to talk about
market research.
Simple,
useful, and easy to deal with.

research tip
When feasible, an in-person project launch
with your vendor is always valuable
Like any other business dealings, when two
parties meet in person, the relationship
dynamics change and the task takes on a
personal tone. This is especially important
when commissioning a research project. By
meeting in person, you’ll be pulled to the
forefront of the research team’s attention
where you’ll find a higher level of service
every time.
This initial meeting should have three
goals. First, it should provide a forum to
introduce key players from both sides and
identify their expertise, commitment and
general expectations. Second, it should
include a reiteration of project objectives
and expectations. Third, an in-person
meeting should review deliverables and
timelines.
The overall objective is to look for
surprises, either on the face of the
provider or the face of those who will
receive the results. A surprise isn’t a
problem as long as it is discussed and
clarified in the beginning. |
